The Cyborg Spiders were created by the people of Pomarius as a defence against fruit flies that threatened to destroy their beautiful orchards. However, the spiders got out of control and spun their metal webs across the planet. When the Eleventh Doctor with Amy Pond became trapped in the web, the Doctor managed to lure the spiders out into space and heading towards an uninhabited planet. (COMIC: The Steel Web)
