In an alternate timeline, the Crimean War was fought between Sontar and the British. With the help of the Thirteenth Doctor, the war ended in 1855 when the Sontarans - in the midst of a strategic withdrawal - were defeated by British troops of the Light Division under the command of Lieutenant General Logan. (TV: War of the Sontarans)

As with the original version of the war, (AUDIO: The Charge of the Night Brigade) Mary Seacole was present in Crimea where she helped troops on both sides at her British Hotel. (TV: War of the Sontarans)
