Crimea or the Crimean Peninsula was an area of Earth near Russia. The Crimean War was fought there in the mid-19th century. (TV: The Evil of the Daleks; PROSE: Blood Harvest) The Seventh Doctor and Ace were stranded there during the beginning of the war. (AUDIO: The Angel of Scutari)
Circa the 1970s, the Third Doctor claimed to Robbins that he was wounded in the leg in Crimea. He quickly changed his story to say it was Gallipoli, and then El Alamein, before questioning if it mattered. (TV: The Sea Devils)
