The Coal Hill School entrance hall was the entrance and exit to the school. In the 1960s, it was called the crush hall, and went out into the playground. (PROSE: Time and Relative)

Coal Hill School[]

On 1 April 1963, during an attack by Cold Knights, Susan Foreman, John Brent and Gillian Roberts had to pull Captain Brent into the crush hall. They barricaded the entrance with a heavy cabinet of sport trophies. They then retreated to the assembly hall. (PROSE: Time and Relative)

In November 1963, the Seventh Doctor and Ace entered the crush hall, and met Headmaster Harvey Parson as he was putting up a notice about car thieves on the school bulletin board. (TV: Remembrance of the Daleks)

Coal Hill Academy[]

In 2016, after major renovations to Coal Hill Academy culminating in the spring, it bore a sign that read the name of the building it belonged to: the Barbara Wright Building. The entrance hall had sofas for students to lounge on. (TV: The Coach with the Dragon Tattoo) As such, it was a hotspot for students of all ages. On 13 October, April MacLean put up a sign for the Autumn Prom, and spoke to Tanya Adeola. She asked her to join her later to decorate for the prom, and also mentioned wanting to ask Charlie Smith to go with her. (TV: For Tonight We Might Die)

Quill and Armitage

On 24 October, Frank Armitage informed Andrea Quill about an inspector from Ofsted coming, as the pair were entering the building through the entrance hall. (TV: The Coach with the Dragon Tattoo)

In November, Tanya Adeola, Varun Singh, Jackie MacLean and Huw MacLean stood and talked in the entrance hall while April MacLean and Ram Singh were off in the Underneath. They observed the killer petals attacking M. B. Okonjo, whose bloody corpse slid down the glass window. (TV: Brave-ish Heart)
