Commander Clay was the leader of the Sky Ray Space Raiders.
When the Daleks invaded Zaos, the Second Doctor sent a radio distress call to the Space Raiders, and they quickly arrived. When his nuclear carbine was destroyed by the Daleks, he accompanied the Doctor on his journey to the region inhabited by the Astrobeetles and made contact with them, convincing them to assist in destroying the Daleks. After the Daleks were defeated, Clay contacted Earth for the parts the Doctor needed to repair his damaged TARDIS. (PROSE: Daleks Invade Zaos)
