- Brains notes the fall-out from the thermal plutonium charges has blanketed the entire area in radiation and says the place will be a death trap for weeks.
- Project City have had trouble with volcanic turbulence way below the tapping shafts in their attempts to tap the Earth's core with a huge power station.
- One of the rebels states that liars are enemies of the revolution.
- The Domo was originally a demolition vehicle and, as such, is equipped with a laser cannon. It also has a tele-video scanner.
- Virgil and Brains attempt to retrieve the Mole with Thunderbird 2's magno-grapple.
- The cargo bay of Thunderbird 3 is "seldom-used" but is used on this mission to carry Pod 2 to the danger zone.
- The lieutenant thinks that one day they might emerge from Project City and find the whole world changed but his sergeant dismisses the thought as "kid's stuff" by suggesting being taken over by Martians as an example.
Story notes[]
- This story notably saw the destruction of two International Rescue vehicles which had previously been featured in Thunderbirds television episodes; the Mole was lost in a pit of lava while the Domo was wrecked in a short battle with a tank.
Continuity[]
