The Citadel of Peladon was the castle that served as the seat for the Royal House of Peladon. It had been constructed circa 3035 (AUDIO: The Bride of Peladon) on the orders of King Erak. (PROSE: Legacy)

On multiple occasions the Citadel hosted delegates from the Galactic Federation and during the reigns of King Peladon and his daughter Queen Thalira. (TV: The Curse of Peladon, AUDIO: The Poison of Peladon) In Thalira's reign it was briefly occupied by renegade Ice Warriors working for Galaxy 5 who used the pretex of a mining dispute to declare martial law, until they were driven out by combined forces of the royal palace and miners led by the Third Doctor. (TV: The Monster of Peladon)

Erimem, who eventually became a resident of the Citadel as its Queen, found it eerily familiar. The Fifth Doctor explained that it was quite similar to Castle Dracula, (AUDIO: The Bride of Peladon) which Erimem had previously visited. (AUDIO: Son of the Dragon)

During Queen Minaris' reign, Helais led an attack on the Citadel after the Queen refused to take action following a mining collapse. Her forces got as far as the throne room where the Sixth Doctor talked her down. (AUDIO: The Death of Peladon)

Arla Decanto was held for three days in the Citadel's prison during Chancellor Barok's regime, with the Eighth Doctor visiting her at night via secret tunnels. (AUDIO: The Truth of Peladon)
