A church was located on Ruby Road in Manchester.
History[]
On Christmas Eve 2004, a stranger came to the church on Ruby Road, carrying a new-born girl. Just before midnight, she left the child on the steps of the church. As the stranger left the church, Goblins attempted to steal the baby to eat her, in revenge for an older version of her and the Fifteenth Doctor thwarting their plans to eat Lulubelle in 2023.
However, the Doctor, using his intelligent gloves, pulled the Goblin ship into the church, impaling the Goblin King with the church's spire. As a result, the ship dematerialised, leaving the baby behind. The Doctor put her back on the steps and left just before the clock struck midnight. The child was then taken in (TV: The Church on Ruby Road [+]Russell T Davies, Doctor Who Christmas Special 2023 (BBC One and Disney+, 2023).) by the vicar, (PROSE: The Church on Ruby Road [+]Esmie Jikiemi-Pearson, adapted from The Church on Ruby Road (Russell T Davies), BBC Books novelisations (BBC Books, 2024).) and eventually adopted by Carla Sunday. The baby was named "Ruby" after the road she was found on by her mother before she left, although Ruby would always believe that the social workers or paramedics had chosen her name. Ruby finally managed to identify her mother with the help of the Doctor and Roger ap Gwilliam's DNA database in 2046. Kate Stewart surmised that Ruby's mother Louise Miller had left her at the church for Ruby's protection as Louise, who was only fifteen at the time, had an abusive stepfather. Finally meeting her mother in 2024, Ruby thanked Louise for leaving her somewhere safe and the mother and daughter were finally reunited.
