Christmas dinner

Christmas dinner referred to the meal eaten at Christmas. Turkey was typically eaten at Christmas. (TV: Children in Need Special, Out of Time, Voyage of the Damned) This was misunderstood by apparent Earthonomics expert Mr Copper. He confused the bird with the Earth nation of Turkey. He said that the people of the UK went to war with Turkey every Christmas, after which they would then eat the people of Turkey. (TV: Voyage of the Damned)

During Christmas dinner, Christmas crackers were pulled, containing Christmas hats and jokes, while "classy" crackers contained poems. (TV: Children in Need Special, The Christmas Invasion, The Time of the Doctor)

Following their defeat of the Cybermen invasion of London on the night of Christmas Eve in 1851, Jackson Lake planned to dine with the Doctor, Rosita, and his son at the Traveller's Halt for a celebratory Christmas feast in memory of the lives that were lost to the Cybermen. After the Doctor confided that all his companions had gone and "broke [his] heart", Jackson insisted that he join the feast, to which the Doctor accepted, noting that not many people could change his mind. The Eleventh Doctor noted to Amy Pond that, given the abundance of plastic, Earth in the 1980s would be "Christmas dinner" to the Nestene Consciousness. (GAME: The Christmas Trap)

The Tenth Doctor mentioned to Rose Tyler that having met her mother, nut loaf was a more appropriate dish for Jackie Tyler to cook for Christmas dinner rather than turkey. It was at that joke that she first smiled followed the Doctor's regeneration. (TV: Children in Need Special) Soon after, the Doctor's TARDIS deposited the pair at the Powell Estate on Christmas Eve of 2006, which the Doctor had arranged as a Christmas present. The short notice of Rose's return home led her mother to tell her that Christmas dinner would be meat paste. Eventually, however, following the defeat of a Sycorax invasion of Earth in the interim, the Doctor joined Rose and Jackie as well as Mickey Smith for Christmas dinner, which indeed included a turkey, at the Tylers' flat on the night of 25 December. On Christmas 2007, the Empress of the Racnoss referred to the corpse of H.C. Clements as her Christmas dinner. Having admitted to Donna Noble that, despite his extra-terrestrial origins, he had eaten Christmas dinner last year, he was offered a place to dine at her house that Christmas night. While attempting to persuade the Doctor, Donna told him he might as well since her mother always cooked "enough for twenty." Having learnt from River Song that the Eleventh Doctor survived his supposed death on 22 April 2011, Amy Pond and Rory Williams left a place for the Doctor for Christmas dinner each year. Graham O'Brien mentioned that he and his grandson Ryan Sinclair had a Christmas dinner to get to, with the Thirteenth Doctor promising them they would be back from their latest trip in time for it. (COMIC: Holiday Special)

In 2058, the crew of Bowie Base One had dehydrated protein for Christmas dinner.
