Christine Holland was an Earth scientist. Arthur Tyler III called her the world's greatest biotechnologist.
Holland attended Oxford College with Pierre-Yves Dudoin and Tyler, graduating the same year as them. Dudoin later married Holland and they had a daughter, Pippa Holland. However, Dudoin's ambition to get into space before Tyler led to them getting divorced.
In 2001, Dudoin kidnapped their daughter to get Holland to help him in his ongoing obsession to be the first privately-funded man in space. The Eighth Doctor helped reunite her with her daughter. (PROSE: Escape Velocity)
