Chris Cwej's mother was a small woman who was married to Volsted Kornbluth Cwej. Together, they had a son, Christopher Rodonanté Cwej, better known as Chris.
Cwej's parents attended his graduation on Ponten IV in 2974.
She was, at the time Roz Forrester and Bernice Summerfield met her on Earth, of retirement age. The Seventh Doctor fixed her irradiator, a kitchen appliance that she had correctly guessed had a faulty techbrain. (PROSE: Original Sin)

Neither Cwej nor her husband's forenames were revealed by writer Andy Lane, although Volsted Cwej's name was revealed in Lawrence Miles' Christmas on a Rational Planet.
