When Chris Cwej encountered the Carnival Queen in a desert outside Normal-Space, she persuaded him to spawn several gynoid children with her. These gynoids, creatures of irrationality, were wholly unlike the androids and gynoids native to the rational universe. To achieve this, Cwej sat on a dune beside the Carnival Queen and meditated, freeing his mind from the Time Lord version of logic, and causing the gynoids to gestate beneath the sand.

Individuals potentially born[]

  • The first of Cwej's gynoid children began to "blossom and uncurl" in the darkness below; Cwej sensed its presence, and that it might one day call him "da-da".
  • The first gynoid to reach the surface (which may or may not have been the same one) erupted from the sand with an "almighty blunch", startling Cwej. It resembled a rectangle of quivering flesh, with four protoplasmic limbs - two arms and two legs - emerging from its corners. Its head, which pushed out of its surface, was a stubby lump with two deep, featureless pits for eyes. It bowed gracefully to its father, then floated off across the desert like a kite. The Carnival Queen deemed this child "not bad", but criticised Cwej for making it so humanoid.
  • When the Carnival Queen warned Cwej that the universe contained "Things that try to take away the very things that make you who you are... are you listening?", her telepathic speech was so loud that he wondered if one of his gynoids would be born with that sentence written inside its flesh, like letters in a stick of rock.
  • When distracted by a false, TARDIS-implanted memory of seeing his father use a frisbee to foil a bank robbery, Cwej unwitting created another gynoid; the Carnival Queen called it cute, noting that it even had a little nose, but opined that it was still too rational.

Fate[]

Cwej's gynoids ended up inhabiting the "whispering tower-blocks" of the un-city, an Overcity-like structure that he imagined into existence. When he decided to reject the Carnival Queen, the un-city collapsed with the gynoids inside. (PROSE: Christmas on a Rational Planet)
