Chocolate cake

Chocolate cake was a baked dessert made with chocolate.

The Fifth Doctor once offered to take Peri and Erimem to Barastabon, a planet renowned for their Masterbakers, in order to partake of some of the universe's best chocolate cake. (AUDIO: The Church and the Crown) The Seventh Doctor recalled this event with pleasure. (AUDIO: Bang-Bang-a-Boom!)

Evelyn Smythe was herself a renowned baker of this type of cake, using a recipe the Sixth Doctor found delectable. Her enjoyment of baking this particular dish was so great that one of the inducements the Doctor successfully used to get her to travel with him was the promise that they would go to Mexico or Havana just to pick up some specialty chocolate for her to use. (AUDIO: The Marian Conspiracy) After she witnessed the death of Cassie Schofield, the Doctor offered Evelyn some chocolate cake and cocoa in an unsuccessful attempt to help her feel better. (AUDIO: Project: Lazarus) After her travels in the Doctor's TARDIS had ended, she later advised the health-conscious Melanie Bush that the Doctor should occasionally be allowed some chocolate cake as a reward. (AUDIO: Thicker Than Water)
