Caroline Darnell (also known as Laska) was an Earth woman.
On her 19th birthday, she tried to commit suicide. The attempt failed and she became a patient at the Retreat. After becoming involved with the Eighth Doctor's investigation of the Sholem-Luz, she regained her self-confidence. Along with proper medication, she was able to check out of the Retreat and live a normal life. (PROSE: The Sleep of Reason)
