Canterbury James Olliphant, nicknamed Canto, was a member of the Anglican Marines and a member of the Church stationed on Kastarion 3 in 5087. (TV: Boom [+]Steven Moffat, Doctor Who series 14 (BBC One and Disney+, 2024).)

Biography[]

Sometime prior to October 10, Canto sent his fail safe request that, on his death, his close friend Mundy be informed that he loved her.

On October 10, he tried to swap patrols with Mundy Flynn and wanted to see the tattoo, that she gave one of their fellow clergy, Posh Graham. He saw the tattoos on Graham, an action which surprised Mundy. He came after Mundy after she went into the field. Seeing Ruby Sunday holding Mundy at gunpoint, Canto fatally shot Ruby only to learn it was a ruse. To help, he tried to rewrite the Villengard Ambulance programming to make it treat Ruby after it refused to treat her because she wasn't ordained. He also confessed to Mundy that he loved her while they were working on the Ambulance

However, the Ambulance's defences activated, vaporising Canto and 'smelting' him down. Upon his death, an artificial intelligence reconstruction of Canto gave Mundy his recorded final message as he planned. (TV: Boom [+]Steven Moffat, Doctor Who series 14 (BBC One and Disney+, 2024).)
