The canon per tonos was a part of the Musical Offering. It was the first part decoded by the Clockwork Ouroboros, and used as a kind of skeleton key to unlock the rest. This eventually allowed the Star Chamber access to the Eleven-Day Empire. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
