References

  • The Doctor is travelling with unnamed companions, who remain sleeping in the TARDIS whilst he visits Chronotis.
  • The Doctor hears Buddy Holly singing on a radio being carried by a student.
  • The Doctor hasn't read Treasure Island.
  • After his meeting with Chronotis, the Doctor materialises the TARDIS in the Professor's rooms that evening (while Chronotis is out buying milk and sugar at a late-night shop), and exchanges Treasure Island for a copy of The Time Machine.
It is unclear how the Doctor managed this short journey, bearing in mind that during his first and second incarnations he was unable to control the TARDIS and could never predict where or when it would land.
  • It would appear the Doctor somehow returned Chronotis's copy of Treasure Island to his rooms afterwards, re-exchanging it for the copy of The Time Machine he had left, as in Shada Chronotis is seen to have bought his own copy of The Time Machine.
The Fourth Doctor probably swapped the books over during one of his visits in either 1955, 1960 or 1964. (HOMEVID: Shada)
