Characters
References
- The Doctor is travelling with unnamed companions, who remain sleeping in the TARDIS whilst he visits Chronotis.
- The Doctor hasn't read Treasure Island.
- After his meeting with Chronotis, the Doctor materialises the TARDIS in the Professor's rooms that evening (while Chronotis is out buying milk and sugar at a late-night shop), and exchanges Treasure Island for a copy of The Time Machine.
- It is unclear how the Doctor managed this short journey, bearing in mind that during his first and second incarnations he was unable to control the TARDIS and could never predict where or when it would land.
- It would appear the Doctor somehow returned Chronotis's copy of Treasure Island to his rooms afterwards, re-exchanging it for the copy of The Time Machine he had left, as in Shada Chronotis is seen to have bought his own copy of The Time Machine.
- Time Lords can recognise each other regardless of incarnation. (TV: The War Games, TV: The Five Doctors, TV: Utopia, TV: The Sound of Drums)
Notes
- The Doctor uses one of his everlasting matches to locate Treasure Island in Chronotis's darkened rooms. (Doctor Who in an Exciting Adventure with the Daleks)
Continuity
- This would appear to be the "different body" that the Doctor mentioned to Wilkin in HOMEVID: Shada / WC: Shada / AUDIO: Shada.
- The Doctor has already read The Time Machine. He would later read it again in his seventh and eighth incarnations (TV: Doctor Who). He would also later meet its author, H.G. Wells, during his sixth (TV: Timelash) and tenth incarnations (COMIC: The Time Machination), inspiring him to write the novel.
- Chronotis has recently seen the Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith, and is also aware of the Doctor's period of exile on Earth. (TV: The War Games)
