Joan Calder's grandfather as there are two people named Calder without a first name in this story.

Talk about it here.

Joan Calder's grandpa, Mr Calder, fought in World War I.

When the First Doctor and Susan encountered the Calder family, the family was trapped in 1943 when they should have been in 1963. The Doctor believed that it was Mr Calder who was keeping them there, and that something in the mirror had found him and was using him.

When the house began to burn, Joan and her mother burned, freeing them. Mr Calder tried to stop the Doctor and Susan from leaving, but Susan broke the mirror, and Mr Calder turned to dust. (PROSE: Ash)
