The star seed was held within a briefcase which chained itself to its current holder and hijacked their consciousness, causing them to attempt to fulfill the mission of taking it to the Time Hotel to send it back in time so that it could bloom. If opened, the briefcase began a 20-second countdown to the disintegration of the current holder. Upon closure, it would then begin another 15-second countdown to disintegration which had to be disarmed via a 4-digit security code.
