Professor Brett was a computer scientist who created WOTAN, his life's work, in 1966.

Biography[]

Prior to C-Day, Brett was hypnotised by WOTAN, first feeling like he was being spied upon before falling completely under its control.

With his colleagues Professor Krimpton and Major Green also hypnotised, Brett oversaw the building of the War Machines per WOTAN's orders and attempted to have the First Doctor join them using Dodo Chaplet.

Brett also had his secretary, Polly Wright, conditioned and was eventually freed when WOTAN was destroyed, retaining no memory of what he had done. Sir Charles Summer went to ensure that he was all right. (TV: The War Machines)

Brett explained his behaviour by saying that he had suffered a nervous breakdown. (PROSE: Who Killed Kennedy) His computers, programming and notes were stored away in the Brett Archive. (AUDIO: The Law Machines)

Legacy[]

Polly was reminded of Professor Brett when she saw Anne Fields surrounded by paperwork as he often was. (AUDIO: The Dead Star [+]Error: Code 2 - no data stored in variables, cache or SMW.)
