History

On 7 March 2006, a poster for the club was visible near Mickey Smith. (TV: World War Three ^[+]Russell T Davies, Doctor Who series 1 (BBC One, 2005).)

Later in 2006, when the Doctor took Rose back to the Powell Estate, as she exited the TARDIS onto the courtyard of the estate, she saw the library and the youth club to her side. (PROSE: Winner Takes All ^[+]Jacqueline Rayner, BBC New Series Adventures (BBC Books, 2005). Chapter 1; Page 13.)

Behind the scenes

• The Powell Estate was partially filmed in Brandon Estate in London. In some sources, the Powell Estate is depicted as being located 1:1 to the Brandon Estate, implying that the Powell Estate is essentially a variation of the real estate.
  • In World War Three, a poster for the Brandon Youth Centre was seen, and it was later seen — along with the local library which also exists in the real world — in the novel Winner Takes All.
  • The youth club in World War Three still uses the name "Brandon Youth Centre", implying that the name "Brandon Estate" is another name for the Powell Estate in-universe.
• The Brandon Youth Centre, located at 19 Maddock Way, London, closed since 2006, and the Christian group Restoration Ministries is now located there.

Though it's possible that a real world location doesn't exist in the same geographic space in the Doctor Who universe, such cases are few and far between. Thus, the map at right is probably a good indicator of the DWU location of Brandon Youth Centre.
