A bodyguard was the personal bodyguard of Varan. When they went to Skybase One for talks, Varan went to see the Marshal, and the bodyguard stayed behind. However, a guard discovered he was mutating, and the bodyguard knocked out the guard and ran. He discovered the Third Doctor and Jo Grant and tried to attack them, but was shot dead by Stubbs.
