Bideford was a town in the south-west of England.
Nearby towns included Barnstaple to the north-east. Local small towns and villages included Westward Ho to the north-west, Clovelly to the west and Northam to the north. Bideford was served by the A39 link road. To the west of Bideford was Barnstaple or Bideford Bay.
