Beyond the Sea was a comic story published in Doctor Who: Battles in Time. It was written by Steve Cook.

The TARDIS has gone missing on a living planet. With the help of Kul, the Doctor embarks on a desperate hunt...
Summary[]
The Doctor and Kul take aquabikes from more of the spacecraft's wreckage. They drive beneath the "sea", or the "life-sustaining plasma of the planet" as the Doctor describes it. They are attacked by more antibody defences, this time looking like giant floating eyeballs with tentacles.
Kul and the Doctor escape these antibodies by hiding in a hole in the rock. This turns out to be the very craft that Kul and his people came from. Anti-aquatic gases outside create pressure round the wrecked Life Ark, which is protected by an army of cleaning robots. The act like antibodies to keep the ship sterile. The planets antibodies break through the pressure barrier and battle the robots.
The Doctor boots the anti-aquatic gases to create a pressure bubble. This expels the planet's antibodies from the ship. Kul and he find the ship's info-banks. These have been drained by root-like nerve endings that extend from the heart of the planet through another hole in the ground. The Doctor and Kul must follow the nerves down to the planet's "brain" and find out why it is hungry for knowledge and what it has done with the TARDIS...

- Supporting the series of collectible Doctor Who trading cards, the magazine carried a regular four page, individually titled comic strip of the Tenth Doctor's adventures.
- The artwork and colours were bold and bright, reflecting the tone of the magazine and, as did Doctor Who Adventures, reflected the appeal to readers younger than those catered to by Doctor Who Magazine.
- The Battles in Time comic strip sought to associate its Doctor with the one seen on screen with "props" from in the TV series: blue/brown suit, intelligent-looking glasses, sonic screwdriver and psychic paper.
