PC Bert Rowse was a policeman in the 1960s, and the husband of Hilda.
Biography[]
Bert's wife Hilda was a telephone exchange operator, who also ran the combined village shop/post office — which was in addition the local police station.
After Hilda realised Forester was impersonating Arnold Farrow over the phone, she alerted Bert to the strange goings-on.
Bert arrested Forester and Smithers for the murder of Farrow. (TV: Planet of Giants [+]Louis Marks, Doctor Who season 2 (BBC1, 1964).)
