Bernard Archard (20 August 1916-1 May 2008[1]) appeared in two Doctor Who television stories: as Bragen in The Power of the Daleks and Marcus Scarman in Pyramids of Mars.

He was also considered for the roles of Bennett in The Rescue, (DOC: Mounting The Rescue) The Monitor in Logopolis, Sanders in Kinda, Professor Hayter in Time-Flight, (TCH 35) Borusa in Arc of Infinity, Azmael in The Twin Dilemma (TCH 40), Lord Ravensworth in The Mark of the Rani (TCH 41), Joinson Dastari in The Two Doctors and Hans de Flores in Silver Nemesis.

He shared his memories of his Doctor Who career on the documentaries Osirian Gothic and Servants and Masters, the latter of which was released after his death.

Personal life[]

Archard was partnered with fellow actor Jim Belchamber, and they entered into a civil partnership in 2006.
