Battle of the Bulge

The Battle of the Bulge, also known as the Battle of Ardennes, was fought in the Ardennes region of Belgium during the Second World War in December 1944. It was launched by the Germans in what proved to be their last major offensive operation of the war. The battlefront was visited by the Eighth Doctor, Samantha Jones and Fitz Kreiner on 15 December. (PROSE: Autumn Mist) George Woods fought valiantly at Ardennes as part of the British Army at the age of sixteen. (TV: Lost in Time)

According to Colonel Herbert Elgar, the German Army's initial progress in the offensive was “making everyone in Paris feel jittery.” The French still had painful memories of Germany advancing into their country at the beginning of the war as well as during World War I and feared yet another repeat. However, there was ultimately little chance of the Germans advancing deep into France and reclaiming all the territory once again. American Marines confidently claimed that the battle would “all be over in a month or two.” (PROSE: The Turing Test)

This page should be merged.

It should be relocated at Battle of the Bulge because Autumn Mist already established a WWII battle in the Ardennes region which took place in 1944. George Woods, who fought at Ardennes at 16 years of age, would have been 16 in that year.
