Barbara Clegg (1 March 1926-7 January 2025[1]) wrote the Doctor Who television story Enlightenment and created the basic concept behind The Lost Stories audio stories Point of Entry and The Elite, each based on storylines she proposed for the TV series.

She shared her memories of Enlightenment on the DVD audio commentary and the documentary Winner Tales All and Single Write Female.

She is the fifteenth longest-lived person associated with the Whoniverse.

Career[]

Originally an actor, Clegg moved on to write for radio. She wrote an adaptation of The Chrysalids. She went on to write for television, including a number of scripts for shows such as Coronation Street and Crossroads. Eventually, she came to write for Doctor Who, largely because her children were fans.
