Avocado Pear was a supposedly famous Earth hero, according to Gifftans in the 67th century.

Because the Gifftan Yoss Inkl gave birth assisted by the human doulas Ryan Sinclair and Graham O'Brien, he named his son Avocado in honour of them. Graham and Ryan were surprised and informed Yoss that avocado pears were a type of fruit (although Ryan thought they were a vegetable). Despite this, Yoss refused to believe Gifftan historical records would be wrong about Avocado Pear. (TV: The Tsuranga Conundrum) It is unclear whether Avocado Pear was an incorrect name given to an actual Earth hero, or was entirely fictitious. Though considering Sto had incorrect information on Earth as far back as the 21st century, its not entirely impossible that the information is jumbled up. (TV: Voyage of the Damned)

Behind the scenes[]

The name Avocado Pear may be in reference to Four to Doomsday in which Bigon says "avocado pear" when offering the Fifth Doctor food.
