Norton brought him back to the 1950s to help him on a case. Andy found himself naked in a bed with Norton chained to the bedstead in a burning building. He was taken to Norton's boyfriend for some clothes and to see an alien painting. He heard a voice coming from the painting. He went to find some alien artefacts in a Soho toilet but was arrested for gross indecency. He then tried to get himself off the charge by quoting police regulation. He then met with Fat Kim who tortured him with a lit cigar. After escaping Fat Kim and another raid at a brothel, Norton took him to an alien to try to remove the alien key in his head. Fat Kim caught up with him and found out about the key. The key was to a Martian tripod under Leicester square. Andy started to think that Norton brought him back so that he could cheat. He thought that Norton had set him up. (AUDIO: Goodbye Piccadilly)

Norton brought Andy back to the 1950s Soho as a Torchwood assessor to help clear his name. Andy found himself naked in a bed with Norton chained to the bedstead in a burning building and Norton explained they'd been attacked by gangsters loyal to Fat Kim. He was taken to Norton's boyfriend for some clothes and to see an alien painting, which implanted the key to a alien war machine in his mind. Andy insisted they find a way to remove the alien key, however they were pursued by Fat Kim’s men. The encounteged Torchwood One’s leader, the Vicar who revealed the charges Norton was facing and wished them luck. Andy and Norton were arrested for gross indecency whilst retrieving some alien weaponry Norton had hidden in a public toilet. Andh criticised the arresting officers, who retaliated by hosing him and Norton down, and they were taken to meet with Fat Kim who tortured him with a lit cigar. After Norton used the confiscated alien technology to get them away from Fat Kim and they consultated a psychic at a brothel, who directed them to an alien to try to remove the alien key in his head. Fat Kim caught up with them and found out about the key, which she knew was to a an alien tripod under Leicester Square. Torchwood forces led by the Vicar arrived however Fat Kim managed to take Andy to the alien machine and use him to activate it. Norton managed to climb up to the cockpit for Andy to let him and they confronted Kim, with Andy tricking her to accepting the key into her mind knowing it would kill her as she wasn’t alien to Earth in this time period. After the disabled machine fell on the Vicar, conveniently wiping out the only person other than Kim who’d known about Norton’s criminal dealings, Andy thought that Norton had set him up. He demanded an explanation of Norton’s loyalties however he sent Andy back to the 21st century. (AUDIO: Goodbye Piccadilly)

Andy arranged a police cordon around the TARDIS for the Doctor’s test flight and insisted on coming along. Arriving 6 million years in Earth’s future, he was horrified by the thought of everyone being dead and explored with Liv. They found a control room and were attacked by a decontamination robot, which they led to the Doctor and Tania. Working together, they disabled it with rocks and the Doctor told Andy and Tania to go with Helen back to the TARDIS after realising an army was approaching. The TARDIS refused to let them in, however, leaving them stuck outside as the robots approached, so Andy took the opportunity to confess to Tania about Torchwood actually being shut down. When the Doctor, Liv and Robin returned, the TARDIS yielded and the Doctor used it to disable the robots and take everyone back to 2020. Andrew "Andy" Davidson was Gwen Cooper's former police partner. By 2011, he held the rank of police sergeant. Though not an official member of Torchwood, he aided the staff many times out of kindness to Gwen. However, he did not shirk his duties as a PC and would obey the orders given to him by higher-ups if he had no alternative but to comply, even if Torchwood was made an enemy. He did so harbouring no hard feelings toward the Torchwood collective, knowing Gwen and her teammates could turn the tables given the right nudging.

Andy continued to dig for the truth, even after Owen made various attempts to cover his tracks. He only discovered the truth when Owen forgot to wipe the CCTV at the bus depot and discovered him and Caite at the hub where she was attempting to bring the Threshold through the rift before he sent her away with her travel device. He decided to drive her back to Police HQ instead, narrowly avoiding hitting Sophie Gould on the way. He found Cardiff Police HQ was also under attack, so - at the behest of Gwen - returned with Dawn and Sophie to his flat. There, he was attacked by a zombified Dawn. After he and Sophie disabled Dawn and locked her in one of the bedrooms, Andy asked Sophie if she would like to go on a date with him. After Gwen's father was taken back to the overflow camp, Andy used his status as a police officer to bring Rhys into the camp. While Rhys talked to Geraint, Andy sat with a young Category One girl, whose name was not known and did not seem to have anyone who cared about her. When the Miracle was reversed and she died normally, Andy was at her side, comforting her. (TV: The Blood Line)

The Shiva Virus

Whilst investigating a double shooting, Andy became involved in the search for an alien weapon capable of destroying Britain. (AUDIO: Fallout)

Ready for the call

By 2016, Andy was assisting Gwen as she returned to service as part of Torchwood with the emergence of new disturbances in space time in Cardiff following the apparent closure of the the Rift. This made him enthusiastic to be a part of Torchwood. (AUDIO: More Than This)

Andy investigates alien survivors

Andy investigates a group of alien survivors. (AUDIO: Ghost Mission)

Andy waited for his chance to join Torchwood, following his same routine every day. He was about to break his routine and ask a woman called Jane out on a date when he was interrupted by Norton Folgate, who claimed to be from Torchwood. He offered to evaluate Andy as an agent, and together they investigated a group of alien survivors from a crashed ship who had no corporeal form. Folgate then took Andy to see the Committee, who he claimed were the heads of Torchwood. They told him that a decision would be made about his future with Torchwood and that they would get back to him. Upon returning to his normal routine, Jane approached Andy, having been told by Folgate that she should ask him out on a date. (AUDIO: Ghost Mission)

Sorvix occupation

Ng called Andy to have the Sorvix at Madrigal's hen night arrested, but Ro-Jedda's security detail got there first. (AUDIO: Aliens & Sex & Chips & Gravy) After four inexplicable deaths, Andy called Ng and showed her, Jack and Orr the bodies, later helping Ng remove Dawn Shale's eye to access her phone. (AUDIO: Love Rat) He also asked for Torchwood's help with a Sorvix hostage situation, prompting Jack and Orr to join him, (AUDIO: A Kill to a View) and kept the emergency services responding to Ng's attempts to stop Deliverables. (AUDIO: Zero Hour)

Andy volunteered for a diversity seminar, where he was implanted with a quantum splice and hypnotised by Helen White to stir up his aggression. He shot and killed an unarmed refugee, although he retained no memory of it, and remained in his house with Rhys after PC Nicki Owen leaked the tape. Although he was innocent and exonerated by Ro-Jedda, he told Owen that he planned on leaving the force. Owen, however, told him not to. (AUDIO: The Empty Hand)

Due to the shooting, Andy was kept behind his desk for a time. He and Ng investigated the death of Michael Hughes and he first met Yvonne Hartman when she dropped by to tell him about the Meme, also inviting him to dinner. (AUDIO: Tagged) He was allowed out from behind his desk to look into strange phenomena at a dogging site which led him to find and arrest Rory Owen. "Gwen's" reaction to Rory Owen made him concerned and he called Jack to tell him so. He arrived at Cardiff City Hall shortly after it was bombed by Red Doors. (AUDIO: Herald of the Dawn)

God and the Committee

Andy attended Mr Colchester's funeral and spoke briefly with Jack, Orr and Tyler, asking the latter about Yvonne. (AUDIO: Future Pain)

Yvonne and Andy

Andy and Yvonne. (AUDIO: Another Man's Shoes)

When Cardiff went blind, Andy managed to call Yvonne, whom he had barely spoken to since the explosion of Cardiff City Hall. The two hunted the predator with Andy shooting at it out of Yvonne's car. He was initially displeased with having been used as bait by her but later planned to go home with her. (AUDIO: See No Evil) The next day, Yvonne and Norton arrived on Andy's doorstep and asked him to help recover the Lens from Flight 405. He did so, but was suspicious of Norton and realised that he had had the mission planned from the beginning. (AUDIO: Flight 405)

Andy recognised Tyler Steele begging on the streets and tagged him using Oblation, unaware of the truth behind the programme and its Street Guardians. (AUDIO: Hostile Environment)

On the day of his performance review with the Independent Office for Police Conduct, Andy and Yvonne found that they had switched bodies. Whilst Yvonne went to his review, Andy excitedly went to the Hub but was told that Ng was in charge. He received a phone call for Yvonne telling her to go to Bide-a-Wee Care Home where he learnt of her allegiance to the Committee. Once the body swap was undone, he confronted Yvonne and stormed out, briefly meeting God. (AUDIO: Another Man's Shoes)

Andy called Jack rather than Yvonne when he found people turned to stone in the missing Mermaid Fishing Tours boat. He later helped with the evacuation after Yvonne informed them of the oncoming tsunami, directing people to get to higher ground. (AUDIO: Eye of the Storm)

Director of the DRC

In the wake of the tsunami, Andy was appointed director of the Disaster Recovery Committee. (AUDIO: A Mother's Son) Jack believed that Andy had good cause to support the Committee's plan to wipe the world clean and thus deemed him a believable candidate as a spy for Torchwood, although he kept this secret from Yvonne. (AUDIO: Thoughts and Prayers)

Andy was greatly dissatisfied with what the DRC could actually do, admitting to Bethan Foster that they had next-to-no resources. He argued with Yvonne about the inquiry and apologised to Bethan after referring to her as "another grieving mother". (AUDIO: A Mother's Son)

Andy tried to keep the Day Zero Report secret and was angry when it was leaked, also refusing help from Yvonne when she offered it. When a supply of water was found to exist in Ritz Tower, he went there with security guards to take control of it and was angered when one shot a boy. He fired Sal upon learning that she had been the one to leak information and arrested both God and Yvonne. (AUDIO: Day Zero)

After taking God to a cell where he had placed Jack's body, Andy told her that the Committee wanted to use her powers to cause the Reset. He arrested Mr Colchester, Ng and Orr and told them of his true allegiance, taking them to the Hub and lying to try to calm people down as the world seemed to end. After Yvonne and Orr destroyed the Committee's final form and Erebus, Andy informed Torchwood that the authorities were after them and, when Yvonne decided not to flee, he arrested her. (AUDIO: Thoughts and Prayers)

Working for Torchwood

Andy visited Starr Base on behalf of Torchwood, to investigate the deaths of three of the crew. He learnt that the crew was suspicious of the AI Dave. When Faisal tried to escape, Andy tried to stop him dying from hypoxia. He thought that Dave was malfunctioning which was the reason all the deaths were happening. He had to convince the Mina that the deaths were real. He found Dave's manual and tried to test him. He worked out that Emma was killing everyone as she got sidestepped for the main Mars mission. (AUDIO: Red Base)

Mission in London

In 2020, wanting to keep himself out of the way since Torchwood’s shutdown, (AUDIO: Dead Time) Andy went to London to meet Tania Bell and briefly met the Eighth Doctor. She told him that the TARDIS was not in 107 Baker Street and had him point out the cameras that Torchwood had hidden in her flat so that she could remove them. He was followed by Liv Chenka and the pair helped deal with the aftermath of the explosion of the MedTech building. (AUDIO: Must-See TV)

Andy was displeased when Tania told him that she had sent the Doctor to Mr Crusoe and quickly went there himself. Outside the shop, he felt Bourakai and Teeja teleport and found Mr Crusoe dead, after which he met the Doctor again and fled from the Rakilians with him. Tania told him to cover up the attack at Wakefield's by saying that it was done by students. (AUDIO: Divine Intervention)

Afterwards, Andy offered to help the Doctor with obtaining technology to help with repairs to the TARDIS. (AUDIO: Dead Time)

Andy accompanied the Doctor when he travelled back in time to retrieve a component for the TARDIS from a UNIT lab, where they encountered the younger selves of Ron and Tony and became caught in a time loop centring on an escaped Ogron using a damaged time machine. After several failed attempts to resolve the loop, the Doctor was able to fix the machine using the TARDIS component, with him and Andy briefly interacting with the Ogron in a loop within the loop. As they left, Andy gave Ron a hint to ask Tony out and they bumped into Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart. (AUDIO: UNIT Dating)

Andy travelled with the Doctor to 2050 to investigate the altered future, along with Liv, Helen and Tania. They were all immediately captured by forces opposing Divine Intervention and Andy was subsequently interrogated by Gemma Houlbrooke. The Doctor eventually convinced Gemma to release them and they returned to 2020. (AUDIO: The Long Way Round)

Legacy

As a member of Torchwood, Andy's likeness was among those assumed by the intuitive hard-light simulations of the Torchwood Archive. (AUDIO: The Torchwood Archive)

Alternate timeline

In an alternate timeline in which John Hart took control of the Torchwood Institute and became King of the British Empire, Andy requested the assistance of Torchwood Cardiff in dealing with a hostile alien who had taken hostages at a nightclub. John Hart, however, deemed the threat beneath him and ordered that it be neutralised with lethal force with no regards to collateral civilian casualties. (AUDIO: The Death of Captain Jack)

Personality

This section's awfully stubby.

Please help by adding some more information.

Andy found glamorous police programmes like CSI ridiculous, and seemed to be somewhat put out by Gwen's more inquisitive nature. (TV: Everything Changes) He was a pushover when it came to Gwen Cooper. Because he fancied her and was jealous of Rhys Williams, he did not attend her wedding. (TV: Adrift)

During conversations, he would struggle to think of reassuring, optimistic or humorous things to say, though could sometimes surprise himself. (PROSE: Bay of the Dead)

He winced at the sight of wounds. (PROSE: Bay of the Dead) Andy was very compassionate and was seen comforting a dying girl after the effects of Miracle Day were reversed. (TV: The Blood Line)

By 2020, he was a fan of Star Trek. (AUDIO: Divine Intervention)
