A collector of Doctor Who costumes and props, he played himself in Summer Scene, providing a narrative framing device for a brief interview of him by Rob Brydon.
He was associate producer of the Reeltime Pictures video story Downtime and appeared in The Corridor Sketch. He also played a Time Lord in the Doctor Who television story Dimensions in Time.
In 2013, Beech served as props and costume supervisor on the Doctor Who: 50 Years trailer.
He was also interviewed on the documentaries The Dalek Tapes, Servants and Masters (archive footage from The Dalek Tapes), Serial Thrillers, Our Sarah Jane: The Life of Elisabeth Sladen and Celebration: Doctor Who in 1983.
