When the British government was considering pulling funding for UNIT, Lethbridge-Stewart used his office to have a long telephone conversation with UNIT HQ in Geneva. After the government began taking away UNIT's resources to redistribute them to British forces, the office was nearly bare - with only a desk, a chair, and a framed photograph of Doris. The Third Doctor complained about his laboratory equipment being taken away to Lethbridge-Stewart while the office was in this nearly empty state. (PROSE: Where the Heart Is)
