- David A. McIntee cited Aliens as an example of a good sequel, taking its story in a new direction, in contrast to "Friday The 13th Part whatever". It influenced his decision to take write The Shadow of Weng-Chiang as a loose sequel to The Talons of Weng-Chiang rather than as a direct follow-up.
