Alex was a woman who possessed a keen interest in cave exploration, to the extent that she brought her romantic partner Kat to a beachside cave as their second date, much to Kat's chagrin.
While exploring the cave, the pair encountered a Sea Devil, who fired its energy weapon at them in an effort to protect its nest, only to be subdued by Jo Jones and her sonic lipstick. Jo subsequently brought Alex and Kat to the location of the Sea Devil's nest (which had been established on land instead of at sea due to global warming), whereupon they witnessed an infant Sea Devil emerge from its egg.
After returning to the beach, Alex and Kat watched Jo bring the infant Sea Devil back to the sea to rejoin its colony. Upon being asked by Kat what she was doing in the cave, Jo explained the ambitions to save the environment she and her late partner Cliff had shared, and the action group she and her enormous family had formed in Cliff's name to continue these endeavours. Alex and Kat expressed interest in joining this cause, with Jo enthusiastically accepting their offer of help by inviting them both for a cup of hot tea while she told them all about the group's actions.
