In 2066, the aide to the Chief of the Bereznik Secret Service helped organise the plot to assassinate the World Government Defence Minister while he was visiting the French President.

The Chief selected agent Hermutt Clinger for the assignment who ultimately failed and was shot dead thanks to the efforts of Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward, Parker, and Roger Lyon, though not before transmitting a photograph of the woman back to Bereznik for identification and seriously wounding Penelope. The Chief's aide showed him a fabricated newspaper article from Universal News which claimed the woman who stopped their plans was dead, though the aide also noted she was reportedly very similar in appearance to a titled English lady. The Chief told him that Penelope was of no interest to him and instead ordered him to make certain the spy Clinger shot was really dead. He travelled to the Reinstat Clinic, where she was being treated, and observed from afar as a coffin exited the building, which was carried by Parker and Roger and contained (an alive and well) Penelope inside. Their absence left the aide free to delve deeper into the clinic's records and he eventually found her death certificate. He reported his findings to his superior, resulting in the Chief closing the file they had on her by marking her deceased with a stamp. (COMIC: The Assassination Threat)
