Adam Smith is a British television director who directed the Doctor Who story The Eleventh Hour, premier episode of series 5 that introduced Amy Pond and Rory Williams to the Eleventh Doctor. He also directed DW: The Time of Angels / Flesh and Stone.

Smith has been active on British television since he directed four episodes of Skins in 2007. He followed up that experience with a sizable chunk of episodes of the 2008 adaptation of Charles Dickens' Little Dorrit, co-starring Bill Paterson, Freema Agyeman, Eve Myles, and Arthur Darvill.
