He was interviewed on the Doctor Who Confidential episodes Call Me the Doctor, Eyes Wide Open and Blinded by the Light.

Career[]

After years directing music videos, Smith came to prominence when he directed four episodes of Skins in 2007. He followed up that experience with a sizeable chunk of episodes of the 2008 adaptation of Charles Dickens' Little Dorrit, co-starring Bill Paterson, Freema Agyeman, Eve Myles, and Arthur Darvill.
