Summary
Following a traumatic adventure, the Doctor and Charley arrive in a village which the Doctor judges to be in the 16th century, until the villagers speak casually of space travellers.
The Doctor becomes convinced that the villagers are hiding something. Bryn, the village’s unofficial headman, shows the Doctor and Charley the truth. The “village” and its surroundings are built inside the cargo hold of a colony ship, where topsoil was laid down and allowed to grow. Rather than complete their journey to an alien world, some of the colonists chose to remain on the ship.
The Doctor realises that Charley is upset with him for trying to poke holes in this "perfect" lifestyle. After realising just how hurt she was during their previous adventure, he agrees to settle down for a holiday.
