7 May was a date.
Events
In 1694, the crew of the Fancy mutinied when the feared pirate Captain Henry Avery took command. (PROSE: Time Traveller's Diary)
In 1915, the RMS Lusitania was torpedoed by the U-20, an act that helped provoke the United States into entering World War I two years later. One of the people killed onboard was a petty criminal named Eric Charles Vincent.
In an alternative timeline, the Lusitania did not sink due to the Fifth Doctor's intervention. Vincent, having survived, went on to kill Alexander Fleming in a botched robbery attempt in December 1927 before the biologist discovered penicillin. Without the protection offered by penicillin, Earth fell prey to new strains of meningitis and pneumonia in 1956. The survivors never developed a space programme. Consequently, the Knights of Velyshaa were not defeated by the Earth Alliance in 3562 as they otherwise would have been. (AUDIO: The Sirens of Time)
On 7 May 1997, Alexander Christian escaped from his military captors and managed to contact Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart. The United Kingdom submitted to Martian rule and set up a provisional government. (PROSE: The Dying Days)
In 2157, the Seventh Doctor and Roz Forrester appeared on Mars, while Chris Cwej appeared on Charon. (PROSE: GodEngine)
Births and deaths
7 May was Chris Cwej's father's birthday. (PROSE: GodEngine)
