In the middle of the 47th century, the Weeping Angels came to inhabit the Aplan Mortaria on the planet Alfava Metraxis. The Angels hunted the native Aplans into extinction, abruptly ending their civilisation. With no energy left to consume, the Angels starved. (TV: The Time of the Angels)
On Earth, humanity created an experimental time ship which was manned completely by robots. It went back in time and crashed into the Flying Dutchman.
