June 1926

A calendar showing June 1926. (TV: Carnival of Monsters)

21 June was a date.

Events

In 1815, Napoléon Bonaparte abdicated for the second time. (PROSE: World Game)

In the early 21st century, having been unfrozen the previous day, Tommy Brockless went back to St Teilo's Hospital. Jack Harkness gave him a rift key so he could shut the time shift window once he returned to 1918. From the 21st century, Toshiko Sato convinced shell-shocked Tommy, now again in 1918, to use the key and separate the two timezones. (TV: To the Last Man)

One account[nb 1] dated the United Kingdom election that brought the Saxon Master to power as Prime Minister under the alias "Harold Saxon" to this day in 2007. (PROSE: The Paradox Moon) Other accounts dated it to March 2008 (AUDIO: Recruits) or on 7 June in an unspecified year. (PROSE: The Secret Lives of Monsters)

In 2009, a Tritovore trade caravan crashed on San Helios. (PROSE: Time Traveller's Diary)

Births and deaths

In 2540, Bernice Summerfield was born. (AUDIO: Just War, PROSE: Just War, The Doomsday Manuscript)

Other

According to a calendar aboard the SS Bernice, 21 June 1926 was a Friday. (TV: Carnival of Monsters)

Behind the scenes

Page 120 of The Secret Lives of Monsters gives Sunday 4 June as the date of the events of Smith and Jones [+]Russell T Davies, Doctor Who series 3 (BBC One, 2007). and the Royal Hope incident, and thus, through mentions given in The Sound of Drums, it can be inferred that the Saxon Master was elected on Wednesday 7 June. However, Secret Lives does not specify 2007 or 2008 as a current year. On top of this, the first two Sunday 4 Junes and Wednesday 7 Junes after 2004 (page 119 places the incident over 30 years after 1974) are in 2006 and 2017.

Footnotes

  1. According to The Sound of Drums [+]Russell T Davies, Doctor Who series 3 (BBC One, 2007). Timestamp 5:47 and 33:27; Edition: iPlayer. the events of the Royal Hope incident are three days before the election of the Saxon Master and five days before the Toclafane invasion.
