In 2065, on 13 February, the Space Agency published their report of the detection of a spacecraft entering the atmosphere of Skaro, (PROSE: Stingray Attacked!) namely the ship of the Krattorian slave-traded Kest. This first encounter of the Daleks with hostile space-travellers spurred them on to begin developing spaceships of their own. (COMIC: Power Play)
On 5 June, after the Kaplan of Astra was assassinated, the new Kaplan departed Unity City to return to Astra. This was reported in a news bulletin that also documented the Daleks' invasion of Alvega. (COMIC: The Amaryll Challenge)
