20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was a novel written by Jules Verne.
The Tenth Doctor recounted the inspiration for the novel, an adventure he had shared with the author in which they encountered Silurians and a giant squid. The Doctor requested that Jules remove the Silurians from the story. (PROSE: Peacemaker)
