WikipediaInfo

1967 was the year in which Terry Nation effectively "broke up" with Doctor Who. He withdrew the rights to use the Daleks from the BBC so that he could launch a spin-off series. As a result, this year's Dalek serial, The Evil of the Daleks depicted what was meant to be the "final end" of his creations. Accordingly, 1967 was the beginning of the longest continuous run of Dalek-less stories in series history. (REF: The Official Doctor Who & the Daleks Book)

The move affected not just the television series, but the comics as well. TV Comic, which had only recently been allowed to use the Daleks after their solo run in TV Century 21, had to stop using them after a brief run of stories in which they squared off against the Second Doctor.
