Jack Harkness landed on Ellis Island in 1927. His forged visa was stolen by Angelo Colasanto. Angelo was imprisoned, but Jack faked papers to let him out. Jack and Angelo eventually found a room to share in New York City. They thwarted a plot by the Trickster's Brigade to use an alien parasite to harm future US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's mind and allow the Third Reich to win World War II. Jack disintegrated the creature, but was caught by the police. Jack was shot and Angelo arrested. He assumed that Jack was dead. (TV: Immortal Sins)

Also sometime during 1927 Mary Baker, the future paternal grandmother of Julia Hardwick as well as one of her possible descendants due to time travel, was born. (WC: A Ghost Story for Christmas)

The Eleventh Doctor once recommended that he and Clara Oswald should go for scones at the Lake District in this year, as the scones were particularly good. (TV: The Rings of Akhaten)

December - In an alternative timeline accidentally created by the Fifth Doctor, the RMS Lusitania did not sink on 7 May 1915 and a petty criminal named Eric Charles Vincent (who died in the sinking of the Lusitania in the proper timeline) killed Alexander Fleming in a botched robbery attempt before the biologist discovered penicillin. Without the protection offered by penicillin, Earth fell prey to new strains of meningitis and pneumonia in 1956 and the survivors never developed a space programme. Consequently, the Knights of Velyshaa were not defeated by the Earth Alliance in 3562 as they otherwise would have been. (AUDIO: The Sirens of Time)

25 - Gregg Palmer, who played Shav and Gern in TV: The Tenth Planet and Lieutenant Lucke in TV: The War Games, was born in San Francisco, California.

2 - Ray Barrett, who played Bennett in TV: The Rescue, was born in Brisbane, Australia.
26 - Julia Smith was born.

3 - Kit Pedler (Doctor Who writer and co-creator of the Cybermen) was born.
4 - Geoffrey Palmer (Masters in TV: Doctor Who and the Silurians, the Administrator in TV: The Mutants and Hardaker in TV: Voyage of the Damned) was born.
29 - Tommy Wright was born.

5 - Kenneth Waller (Hedges in TV: The Invisible Enemy) was born.
8 - Ken Dodd (the Tollmaster in TV: Delta and the Bannermen) was born.
8 - Lennie Mayne, who would directs serials for each of the first four Doctors, was born.
12 - John Hollis (Sondergaard in TV: The Mutants) was born.

10 - Anthony Coburn, who wrote TV: An Unearthly Child, was born.
11 - Bill McGuffie was born.
12 - Honor Blackman, who played Professor Lasky in TV: Terror of the Vervoids, but who is best known for her work in The Avengers and Goldfinger, was born in London.
