On 1 January, Wovoka was cutting pine trees in the Nevada mountains when he fell into a crevice during a solar eclipse and had a vision of a trailer for Michael Brookhaven's 1990 film The Coyote Road, as a result of Faction Paradox's attempts to hijack the open door technology. A devastating blizzard known as the Great White Hurricane occured between 11 March and 14 March, killing 400 people and leading to widespread destruction in the northeastern United States of America. On 12 March, the First Doctor, Susan Foreman, Barbara Wright, and Ian Chesterton arrived in New York City. It was not until Barbara sees the date in a newspaper that she realised they were about to be caught up in the storm. On 17 July, the Elysium historically crashed a half-mile away from the extremities of the South Coast of England after an intense storm. The ship's crew disappeared and the right to retrieve the cargo was contested by local agencies. A day later The Manchester Guardian reported on the crash among other news. However, later documentation of the crash contradicted the earlier reports and asserted that there had been no storm as well as reports of an angelic woman emerging from the wreck was seen by eye witnesses. The Fellowship committed murders, usually women, to summon the Yssgaroth into the universe. William Blake and the Seventh Doctor saw the group's albino leader at a bordello around the time of the murder of Elizabeth Stride, the third victim. All known members were caught in a fire.
