14 February was a date. It was widely celebrated as St Valentine's Day.

Holidays and observances

14 February was the date on which humans, as well as other species, celebrated St Valentine's Day. (COMIC: Love is in the Air; PROSE: Special Occasions: 2. Do You Love Anyone Enough?)

Events

In 1863, the Fifth Doctor and Nyssa — in the immediate wake of Adric's death and Tegan Jovanka's abandonment at Heathrow Airport — arrived in a London mourning for the dead Prince Albert. The duo began a multi-day adventure in which they tried to ascertain whether Queen Victoria's efforts to contact her beloved Albert had anything to do with the ghost of Adric that they had seen in the TARDIS control room, and the voice of Tremas channelled through the monarch's mystic. In 1895, Oscar Wilde's play The Importance of Being Earnest debuted. (PROSE: The Importance of Being Strax) The Sixth Doctor attended this event. (AUDIO: Assassin in the Limelight)

In Chicago in 1929, Agonal influenced Al Capone to commit the St Valentine's Day Massacre. (PROSE: Blood Harvest)

In 1968, the San Francisco Chronicle, as The Times had reported on 28 December 1967, reported that a circular symbol with an "R" in it — the symbol of the Revolution Man — appeared on both towers of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge. While some hailed the Revolution Man as a sort of Messiah, Lieutenant Marco Phillips said that the act of vandalism served to "promote the activities of drug-takers and draft-dodgers". (PROSE: Revolution Man)

In 1977, the protection program in which Melissa Moretti would be placed was approved. (TV: Children of Earth: Day Three)

In 2013, an Ameteli attempted to plunder Earth's resources, distracting the local population by shooting arrows laced with Porcheen neurotoxins. He was, however, defeated by the Eleventh Doctor. (COMIC: Love is in the Air)

Births and deaths

In 1980, Owen Harper, later a Torchwood Three operative, was born. (TV: Exit Wounds) On his tenth birthday in 1990, his mother declared that she did not have to like him, only love him. (TV: Adam)
