On 12 May, a number of things set in or relevant to the Doctor Who universe were released or published.
- 1973 - Episode six of Planet of the Daleks was first broadcast on BBC1.
- 1973 - Part two of the TV Action comic story Back to the Sun was first published.
- 1983 - DWM 77 was first released by Marvel Comics.
- 1988 - DWM 137 was first released by Marvel Comics.
- 1994 - DWM 213 was first released by Marvel Comics.
- 1996 - The Doctor Who TV movie was broadcast for what one might say was its première on CityTV. This is not, however, a network broadcast, so the movie was technically officially released worldwide on 14 May.
- 2011 - DWA 217 was first released by BBC Magazines.
- 2011 - The Dalek Handbook was first published by BBC Books.
- 2011 - Ferril's Folly was first released by Big Finish Productions.
- 2013 - The DVD box set Doctor Who: The Complete Series Seven was released in Region 1 early, nearly a week before the broadcast of The Name of the Doctor, the final episode of the series. This caused a major scandal which the BBC addressed the next day.
- 2016 - The novel In the Blood was published by BBC Books.
- 2020 - Shadow of the Sun was first released by Big Finish.
- 2021 - MISSY 2 was first released by Titan Comics.
