I was given a bundle of Doctor who things for my birthday. The recipe jokes are my favourite!
I enjoyed this episode despite the clamour around it. I liked the plot and the concept of the episode (that these dots have risen up against the addicted, racist people of finetime) and the design of the mantraps and the social media stuff.
I enjoyed Love and Monsters
These are the first times ive seen each doctor
1) The Celestial Toymaker
2) The War Games (not seen much of 2)
3) The terrror of the autons
4) Genesis of the Daleks/Pyramids of Mars
5) Earthshock
6) N/A I havent seen any episodes with 6 in
7) Remeberance of the Daleks
8) The Night of the doctor
9) Rose
10) Love and Monsters (Ikr?)
11) Eleventh Hour
12) Robot of Sherwood
13) Arachnids in the UK (only a little bit)
14) Power of the Doctor/Destination: Skaro
15) The Giggle/Church on Ruby Road
It has got to be barbara screaming her lungs down at the sight of a plunger
Idk I’m still rooting for Richard ayoade
No.amy and Rory are locked into the past by the angels . It’s too dangerous for the Doctor to return due to the massive amount of paradoxness in 30s New York.
There is scope for Brian to return. That would be nice (but will never happen)
Other remaining NewWho companions that could return are Martha, Donna, Jack, Brian, Clara, Bill, Yaz, Graham, Ryan and Ruby
Those likely, speculated, rumoured, or confirmed to return in some form are Martha, Ruby and Yaz.
I would love to see Brian, Donna and Graham return, but this is unlikely.
@Talon1105 don’t complain that we got an absolute legend back with Donna! (I admit the whole ‘Just let it go’ thibg is stupidly written)

The ending
I like the Mondasian cybermen. Their weird design is funny, cool and chilling at the same time
The goofy Minotaur villain and Gibbis are unnecessary, as well as the ending being rather confusing.
@Talon1105 Maybe it's Mrs Flood
Is Sutekh the oldest one that Maestro mentioned?
If so, then that makes sense - Chidozie says he is so old, and was present when Ruby's mum left her on ruby road (sitting on the Tardis)
But if not, is the Oldest One Mrs Flood, or even the Goblin King?
Here is a far fetch'd theory I thought I would share with you all.
You know how bringing Death to Death (Sutekh) brings life and Sutekh scratched open the vortex, could have done some restoring? Well,
Surely that leaves open some opportunity to restore Gallifrey and the Time Lords? Because there is no reason why not to? I mean I'm sure they wouldnt do this right away, but it is a good option to retcon the Master single-handedly somehow destroying his home planet (another classic Chibbers decision)
Also, maybe there is some potential for some damage caused by the Flux to be reversed? This is even more far out but still works!
Rose doesn't visit an alien planet until the impossible planet:
Rose, The Unquiet Dead, Aliens of London/World War Three, Dalek, Father's Day, The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, Boom Town, Tooth and Claw, School Reunion, Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel and the Idiot's Lantern are all set on Earth
The end of the world, The Long Game, Bad Wolf, The parting of the ways and The Girl and the Fireplace are all on ships or satellites
And New Earth is on New Earth which does not count as foreign because it is the native human planet, not an alien world.
So the first time is on the Impossible Planet!!!!
I dont want to be offensive, but Hitler was wasted in this episode. He could have had such a better role to play
What are the moments from Classic Who that you can rewatch and rewatch and rewatch but are still classic and funny?
The Second Doctor jumping over landmines
'oH mY wOrD!'
'hArRy sUlLiVaN iS aN iMbEciLE'
Remembrance of the daleks when Ace smacks a Dalek with her bat
3 with a bucket handbag
My name is romanavoratrelunar. Well Im so sorry about that is there any thing we can do for you?
What are the smaller moments you can just continually rewatch and rewatch and rewatch from Modern Doctor Who and it is still funny every time?
For me, they are:
Donna and 10 in Partners in Crime
Fish Fingers and Custard
The moment when 11 steals Craig's penalty in the lodger
12 in Davros's chair
Missy killing the Dalek in the sewer
One of the Slitheen saying that victory should be naked
The moment Donna spills coffee in the Tardis and her reaction
The completely unnecessary inclusion of Avery, danny boy and colonel manton
Please tell me what you think.
This first one is controversial
Number 9 - 73 Yards
Not a huge fan of this one - most episodes without the Doctor properly in it (except Blink of course) never turn out too well (I am the controversial person who actually likes Love and Monsters somewhat) turn out to be under par, and this was no exception. The main villain was a stupid idea, who ended up doing absolutely nothing to progress the story or anything villainous, and he was defeated in a stupid fashion which I didn't even pick up. The whole woman thing was also a dumb gimmick, which irked me when I was watching, and the completely unnecessary twist that she was Ruby doesnt help.
Number 8 - Space Babies
Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate this story at all. I thought the idea of a baby farm was cool and weird (like the show itself) and the premise of a bogeyman was an ok one, but the ending felt a bit fuzzy. Was the bogeyman a space baby? How did they get to build up enough pressure to reach Mondo Caroon? It was rather silly how it ended, and was a rather silly premise.
Number 7 - The Church on Ruby Road
I did enjoy this episode, but not as much as the other six. The premise and mystery of Ruby's mother was an interesting one, and Mrs Flood instantly became my favourite character, but the whole idea of coincidence didn't really do it for me. The mavity joke was funny, but the goblins were slightly farcical and not in a good way. I liked the scene with the singing though.
Number 6 - Rogue
The whole regency vibe in this episode is perfect for me (despite me never having Bridgerton), and the set was superb. The interactions between Ruby and the nobility there was funny and good, and the Chuldur family were eeries and spooky, despite their goal being a bit ridiculous.
--Disclaimer - I am in complete support of the LGBTQ+ community and think they should be fairly represented on TV-- but this episode seemed for me, slightly too camp (although I did enjoy that Kylie banger being played and the interactions there). It was so obvious Rogue and the Doctor were going to kiss, and the sort of awkward interactions put me off a bit. I am still glad that the Doctor and Rogue kissed in the end, and I hope Rogue makes a cameo in the future.
Number 5 - Dot and Bubble
This was almost tied with the last one, as I felt they both performed similarly. Another doctor-lite episode, the Mantrap monster plot is an abomination, and the absence of the doctor and ruby is annoying.
However, Callie Cooke manages to carry this episode on her back, as her performance is fabulous. I didn't see the twist that the dots were evil, and the recognition of Susan Twist was lovely, as they had trickled that in all series. I was probably the only one in existence who didn't realise that the people in Finetime were a bunch of racists, but when I found out, I was pleased Doctor Who had finally gone down that route.
